An imbalance of life force energy is a direct consequence of stress. Stress can significantly impact the body by triggering a cascade of physiological responses. It can raise blood pressure, increase heart rate, and disrupt sleep patterns, leading to fatigue and weight gain. Chronic stress can weaken the immune system, making the body more susceptible to illnesses. Additionally, it can lead to mental health issues such as anxiety and depression, affecting overall well-being.
When we become overwhelmed and stuck in this fight or flight state of existence, the body can respond with even more stress hormones when we frantically do high impact and vigorous workouts. This is why you might be doing intervals on the treadmill and consistently exercising 5 days a week, yet not losing an inch.
Most of us have been putting too much focus on the βoutsideβ aspect of exercise and not enough focus on the βinsideβ results.
Qi-Somatics builds its foundation on combining movements from Qigong, Gentle Yoga, and all other Somatic movements combined. (Somatic exercises involve performing movement for the sake of movement.) Throughout the exercise, you focus on calming your inner experience as you move and expand your internal awareness. This allows you to communicate with your autonomic nervous system to let it know itβs ok to relax and let go. (And as a result, you are in a renewed metabolic state that allows you to let go of weight).
Just forget about what you look like while youβre moving, and donβt think about the end result of your movement, (like lifting your leg to a certain height). If you focus your attention completely on what youβre feeling IN your body (both emotionally and physically), your road to wellness will be much more healing and rewarding.
